    Matterhorn Day

    Gornergrat Railway to the viewing platform (3,089 m). Lunch with the Matterhorn outside the window. Optional: helicopter scenic flight (add-on).

    Zermatt at Leisure

    Free day for hiking, the Klein Matterhorn cable car, or just resting at the hotel spa. Car-free village.

  8. Day 8

    Bernina Express to St. Moritz

    The most spectacular alpine train route — through tunnels, over the Landwasser Viaduct, into the Engadin valley.

    St. Moritz Leisure

    Return to Zurich & Departure

What's the best season for this trip?

Late June through September for hiking and warm summer Alpine days. December–March for snow scenes (note: some hiking paths closed). We avoid April–May and October–November (mud season, many cable cars closed).

Is the Glacier Express comfortable for 8 hours?

Very. First-class carriages have panoramic windows, swiveling seats, and at-seat dining. There's also a designated photo coach. Most travelers report wanting it to be longer.

Can we add Interlaken or Geneva?

Yes — common additions. Interlaken adds 2 days and pairs naturally between Lucerne and Zermatt. Geneva adds 1 night before departure for the Lake Geneva region.

How heavy is the luggage handling?

Zero. We use SBB's luggage forwarding service — your bags arrive at the next hotel before you do. You travel with just a daypack.

What about restaurants? Are they included?
